Music broadcast series goes on the road

Honey Box Live – the grassroots music broadcast series known for platforming emerging grassroots music talent – is back for its ninth series and it’s back on the road.

Filmed in front of live audiences and live-streamed across the UK, Honey Box Live captures the energy and atmosphere of original music performances in unique pop-up studio settings.

Since 2016, Honey Box Live has become a trusted platform for unsigned acts and creative production talent alike, and has been delivered largely on a voluntary basis by a team of industry professionals.

“We’re bringing the full live broadcast setup into different venues, building something special in
each space and giving original artists a stage and a spotlight,” said co-producer Pete Herbert.

“It’s about capturing real energy, the spark of a live set, the reaction of the room and sharing the
music that deserves to be heard.”

Honey Box Live has produced 48 broadcast episodes, featured over 135 artists, and created more than 500 high-quality video performances. It even kept broadcasting during the Covid-19
pandemic and Series 9 will mark a new milestone as the show visits its 10th venue since launching.

Thanks to funding from Newcastle Borough Council’s UKSPF fund and Arts Council England, Series 9 will take Honey Box Live on tour across the Midlands from August 2025 to April 2026. This run of unforgettable gig nights will take place at community-rooted venues and creative spaces, with each one professionally filmed and streamed in real time.

The series kicks off on Sunday 31 August at Foxlowe Arts Centre in Leek, a venue known for its vibrant programming, community feel and role at the heart of Leek’s thriving cultural scene.

“Foxlowe Arts Centre is a perfect place to start the new series, it’s a beautiful venue with real
character and it’s right at the heart of a creative town,” added Pete.

“There’s a strong music scene in Leek and we’re excited to bring Honey Box Live into that mix, capture something special and broadcast it.”

Key venues for Series 9 include:
Foxlowe Arts Centre (Leek)
Keele University Clock House Courtyard (Outdoor)
BlueNote Nightclub (Derby)

King Street Studios (Newcastle-under-Lyme)
2Funky Complex (Leicester)
Wolverhampton Arts Centre with a finale back at King Street Studios in April 2026.

Select episodes also form part of Amplifying Grassroots Talent, a parallel project supported by
Arts Council England, offering behind-the-scenes opportunities for emerging creatives and
technicians.

“We’re proud to be adding real development opportunities alongside the shows but first and
foremost, this series is about celebrating original music, platforming new talent and connecting
scenes across the region,” said Pete.
