University of Staffordshire unveils new brand identity

Staffordshire University has undergone a whole new rebrand and has announced it will officially be known as ‘University of Staffordshire.’

This change represents a significant step forward in the University’s ongoing journey, highlighting its deep connection to the county of Staffordshire and its commitment to creating positive opportunities for its students, staff, and communities around the world.

For more than a century, the University has been a catalyst for change, empowering individuals to realise their full potential and make meaningful contributions to society.

The rebrand to University of Staffordshire signals a fresh chapter – one which further solidifies its role as a dynamic and inclusive institution that is forward-thinking and purpose-driven.

Professor Martin Jones, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, (main image) said: “This change is about more than just a name. It encapsulates our vision for the future and the endless possibilities that education can unlock.

“For over a century, we have been transforming lives – empowering individuals who, in turn, have transformed society across Staffordshire and beyond. Our roots run deep in the heart of the region, and our impact resonates far beyond our borders. Based in Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Lichfield, and London, we take immense pride in this latest evolution, signalling that we are not just a university in the region, but a university for the region – a beacon of knowledge, innovation, and opportunity like no other.”

Colin Hughes, Chair of the Board of Governors, said: “Our new identity will resonate with prospective students, partners, and the wider community, ensuring that they feel a part of something special, something that is genuinely making a difference. We are eager to see how this new chapter will inspire our students, staff, and partners as we continue to make a positive impact locally, regionally and globally.”

The new brand strategy, centred around the theme of ‘possibility realised’, celebrates diversity, inclusion, and opportunity and is a reflection of the University’s belief in the transformative power of education and its role in helping individuals unlock their potential.

The University’s revitalised identity will be rolled out across all platforms this Autumn, with a focus on showcasing its vibrant, inclusive, and forward-looking approach. This transformation is a bold statement of the University’s intent to remain at the forefront of higher education, ensuring that it is a place where all voices are heard, and all aspirations are supported.

An Open Day will be held on Saturday 19 October at the Stoke-on-Trent campus, Saturday 26 October at the Stafford campus and Saturday 12 October at the London campus. For further details, please visit https://www.staffs.ac.uk/visit.
