Travel Agent calling for Carbon Heroes to help tackle climate change

Colomobia-john-Lehnert

A Stoke-on-Trent travel consultancy has pledged their support towards tackling climate change after signing up to a new global project series.

Get Set Go Travel, of Packmoor, have teamed up with Not Just Travel, to be part of the Carbon Hero Projects which works to help and restore the planet.

The projects, with environmental partner Mossy Earth, include protecting seagrass – which can store carbon at a rate 30 times that of forests.

In addition projects also help to restore wild forest and help wildlife.

Get Set Go Travel director, John Lehnert, said: “We face a defining moment in the climate crisis and therefore massive action is needed to prevent and repair ecological breakdown and reduce the effects of carbon emissions, including those from travel.

“At Get Set Go we firmly believe in giving back to our environment and now the great news is when booking a holiday with us, people will have the option to be their own Carbon Hero.”

As well as foreign projects in West Africa and California, UK projects include work to restore the Caledonian forest in the Scottish Highlands and restoring natural ponds across the UK. With each Get Set Go Travel booking a donation will be made towards the projects.

“Each project is remarkable,” says John, who is a travel specialist for private and corporate travel working with business partner Matthew King.

“From Portugal to West Africa and right across the UK – we are supporting environmental projects which are having a real positive impact on the environment.

“It is so important to look after our environment the best we possibly can and it is something I am very passionate about myself. I am thrilled we can now help via Get Set Go Travel with what we do every day.

“As the projects continue we will provide updates on how contributions have helped to have a positive impact throughout the world.”
