Summer Sale at the Mine

Emmaus-Furniture-Mine

A Summer Sale at North Staffordshire’s largest furniture and household charity shop has been extended…

Hundreds of quality household furniture items from Emmaus Furniture Mine will be available at a discounted price until Saturday 14th August.

In recent months the charity shop – which is owned and run by Emmaus North Staffs – has received a high number of donations including large furniture items from a nearby hotel.

John Webbe, manager at Emmaus Furniture Mine and Executive Lead at Emmaus North Staffs, said: “We have received a high number of items recently, which has been brilliant and we really welcome donations.

“However, due to the volume we have received recently, our warehouse has become quite full and we are looking to clear some space. We have lots of quality chairs, tables and storage furniture which would be ideal for someone with a venue or even an office.

“We also have sofas and chairs available and all will be included in the sale. For every furniture sale, however large or small, we are also giving away a FREE corner cupboard from the shop.”

Emmaus North Staffs and Emmaus Furniture Mine work together to overcome homelessness and social inclusion and are part of Emmaus UK’s 34-strong federation of Emmaus charities.

The charity shop, which is based in Cannon Place, Hanley is open to the public six days a week and is run by several staff members and volunteers.

Outside of the shop a referrals system operates which sees the charity working closely with local authorities and other housing organisations in delivering quality furniture to local communities.

This sale is also part of the shop’s 30th anniversary celebrations- which also coincides with Emmaus’s 30th year in the UK.

The summer sale will start at Emmaus Furniture Mine from 9am. Please look out for updates on the charity’s Facebook Page @FurnitureMine
