Businesses and entrepreneurs are invited to discover how they can benefit from Staffordshire University’s Innovation Enterprise Zone (IEZ) at a special event.

The Innovation Enterprise Zone Expo on Wednesday 23 November is an opportunity for new and established businesses to find out about a host of specialist support designed to accelerate their business.

Launched in 2020, the IEZ is a multimillion-pound initiative dedicated to helping the local economy thrive. It is one of just 20 University Enterprise Zones in the country, supported with investment from Research England, and provides businesses with access to academic expertise, student talent, skills provision, leading-edge facilities and funded support.

Visitors to the free showcase will learn how they can tap into funding through IEZ projects, hear from local businesses who have already benefitted, plus see some of the exciting prototypes and new products that have been developed.

There will be keynote speakers, panel discussions and masterclasses covering a range of topics from carbon literacy to how Playmobil can be used to encourage workplace learning. Guests can also explore the exciting facilities and technologies that form the IEZ and neighbouring Smart Zone including immersive technologies, the 3D Factory, advanced materials labs, and more.

Staffs-Uni-Business-Expo-2022Marek Hornak, Executive Director of Business Engagement, said: “Through the IEZ we have established an enterprise and innovation ecosystem to level up skills, drive growth and improve opportunities in the region. Over the past two years, IEZ projects have helped hundreds of businesses to access new markets, develop products, create innovative solutions, boost employee skills and much more. This event is a fantastic opportunity to find out how your business could benefit from working with us – we look forward to seeing you there.”

The Innovation Enterprise Zone Expo takes place on Wednesday 23 November 2022, from 10.30am – 3.30pm, at Staffordshire University’s Stoke-on-Trent campus. Reserve your place or find out more, by emailing em*******@*******ac.uk or calling 0800 169 2148.

You can also book a place for the pre-event facilities tour which will run from 9 – 10am.
