Potteries Museum to host Comedy Festival

The city’s first ever Stoke-on-Trent Comedy Festival is set to be hosted at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council have partnered with Me and Mrs Jones Comedy to bring the inaugural event to the fantastic forum theatre at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery.

Over the course of the two-day festival a host of famous faces and touring comedians will be taking to the stage, many of whom people may have seen on their TV screens.

Comedians include Shazia Mirza, Steve Royle, Scott Bennett, Nathan Caton, Justin Moorhouse and Kiri Pritchard-McLean.

Councillor Jane Ashworth, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: “They say comedy is the best type of medicine and I couldn’t agree more. Our city is rich with culture and has some fantastic events going on, but to be able to host the city’s first ever comedy festival at one of our museums is superb.

“Tickets are selling fast so book now so you don’t miss out. I can’t wait to watch some of the shows, the festival will have something for everyone.”

Comedian Kiri Pritchard McLean said: “I’m so excited to be performing at the inaugural Stoke-on-Trent Comedy festival, I’ve always had such fun with Stoke-on-Trent audiences when I’ve gigged here in the past and now I’ve finally be able to use the word inaugural in a sentence.”

Rachel and Dave from Me & Mrs Jones Comedy who organise and promote professional live comedy events in and around Stoke-on-Trent said: “As residents of the city, we are excited to be working in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council and The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery to bring you the first ever comedy festival in Stoke-on-Trent.”

The comedy festival will take place on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 May and tickets are now available to book at https://meandmrsjonescomedy.com
