National sales drive as Longton company forecasts strong growth in 2021

A successful commercial and industrial electrical contractor has signalled further expansion plans with the appointment of a national business development manager.

One Way Electrical, of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, has continued to grow despite Covid-19 and carry-out design, build and maintenance projects throughout the UK.

Managing Director Wayne Bennett said: “We have a strong business plan and have built a reputation for project managing electrical projects across diverse business sectors. Now we’ve secured the services of Chris Buckley who will join One Way as our National Business Development Manager. Chris has 30 years of experience in the electrical trade, most recently working as a senior sales development manager. He knows our company as he’s supplied us with parts in a previous role and he’s got an extensive knowledge of the industry.

“At One Way, we’ve gained a reputation for working on major projects, for example, in the waste management industry, where we have project managed the development of electrical power plants for large new waste to energy plants and waste transfer stations. In the past, we’ve generally been recruited by the site manager but we know there’s potential out there to take a more strategic sales approach at head office level. In addition, we’ve recently launched our new electric car charging installation brand, EV Smart Charging Solutions, and Chris will be exploring this emerging market which has the potential for major growth.”

The appointment of Chris, from Macclesfield, takes the head count at One Way Electrical to 13, with plans for further sales development staff in the pipeline.

Chris said: “One Way Electrical has an excellent reputation and it’s my aim to build on that, picking up more market share. There’s always something new in the electrical sector and One Way are well placed to develop additional opportunities. For example, efficient LED lighting is a market that can save industry a lot of money, with much lower running costs than traditional lighting solutions and now One Way has launched EV Smart Charging Solutions – a market with huge opportunities. It is estimated that more than 80,000 workplace charging systems are needed, together with just over 100,000 public charging stations, to meet the Government’s target of phasing out petrol and diesel vehicles by 2035.”

EV Smart Charging Solutions have OLEV approved fitters which allows customers to access Government discounts on charging units. The company is geared up to fit charging points in both the domestic and commercial markets.
