Cybercon Staffordshire to welcome leading industry experts
Leading industry experts – including an investigative journalist – have been announced as speakers for the first ever Cybercon Staffordshire event.
Headline speaker Geoff White, who has covered technology for the BBC and Channel 4 News, has won multiple awards for his work on Snowden leaks – the hacking of Britain’s largest ISP TalkTalk – as well as his exposes of fraud in the Internet dating industry.
At the free event, which is taking place at the Catalyst Building, University of Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, on Wednesday 2 April, Geoff will be talking about a £1.5 billion world heist, as well as all-important cyber lessons organisations need to be aware of.
Ex-Cyber detective and advisor Adam Pilton will discuss – “Cracking the Case of the Insider Threat,” Simon Norsworthy, who is sales engineer at leading global cybersecurity company – Bitdefender – will be discussing 24/7 Security and Monitoring, while other keynote speaker Vimal Raj Sampathkumar, of IT firm, ManageEngine, will present “Fortifying Endpoints in a Threat-Driven World.”

Cybercon Staffordshire kicks off at 9AM with a welcome breakfast before Vimal’s talk at 10:15am. Adam’s “Cracking the Case of the Insider Threat is scheduled for 11am before lunch at 12 noon. Simon will then share his knowledge in his “24/7 Security & Monitoring talk at 1pm, with Geoff’s Cyber lessons from the world’s biggest heist at 1:45.
In addition to expert insights, Cybercon Staffordshire will offer a fun twist with a Racing Sim competition. Attendees will have the opportunity to test their skills on the simulator, with the top scorer taking home a special prize.
