Honey Box Hive to set to support and develop local musicians

A new exciting project is set to launch which will aim to develop local musicians.

Honey Box Hive by King Street Studios, is set to gather vital information in the Staffordshire music industry to determine what’s required for artists to progress their careers in the industry.

Following a series of meetings with musicians and bands to obtain the information, the King Street Studios team will then work to host a number of free workshops and panels, delivered by industry professionals, with the objective being to provide the tools and knowledge required.

The project will also be offering new opportunities to aspiring sound and lighting engineers, as well as presenting opportunities on the Honey Box.

King Street Studios is no stranger to live music in Staffordshire, being the location of The Honey Box – a monthly live streamed show which features local acts performing in front of an intimate audience live from the studio. The show is now reaching the end of its seventh series, and Co-Producer Peter Herbert feels the new project will serve to be a great addition to Staffordshire music.

Peter said: ‘This is a great opportunity to build on the work started by the Honey Box, to engage in conversation with local artists about how they would like to further their careers, and to support them in achieving their aims.”

Project lead and founder of the Honey Box, Lee Barber, adds: “It’s a great step for us at King Street. We’ve been running the Honey Box for eight years now, I’m looking forward to expanding on that work to help bands progress further. I think it’s important to recognise the fact that we aren’t claiming to know all the answers, we’re simply wanting to help musicians, to find those answers together.”

The Honey Box was founded in 2017, and is led voluntarily by a dedicated team, sponsored by local events management company PH Production Services Ltd.

The Honey Box project focuses on the support of musicians in the Staffordshire region, hosting monthly shows in front of an intimate audience.

The show is broadcast live via social media and features acts performing in the studio, showcasing their originally composed music.

Currently awaiting the finale show of its seventh series, The Honey Box prides itself on supporting musicians of any genre, and also works hard in helping to provide opportunities off stage, with presenter roles, sound engineer training and camera operations training all being part of the project.

Honey Box Hive is funded by Newcastle under Lyme’s UKSPF projects, and will run up to March 2025. For more information, please search King Street Studios or The Honey Box on social media. Alternatively, contact Lee Barber on le**********@*********************co.uk
