The traditional 13.1-mile race is the centrepiece of the day, inviting seasoned runners to confront and conquer the challenging ‘Heartbreak Hill’. This formidable section of the course has become a rite of passage for many in the running community and beckons those who are eager to test their limits.

Understanding that not everyone is up for the full distance in a single go, there is also an option to walk, or team up with friends, family or colleagues for a walking relay. Teams of four can split the journey, turning it into a social event that still accomplishes the course but at a more leisurely pace.

Businesses and groups looking for an engaging team-building activity are encouraged to participate in the half marathon relay with two to four members per team.

Junior runners aged 5-11 will also have the opportunity to dash through the 1km course right in the heart of the city centre. For those aged 12-16, a longer 2km course is available.
