CYBERCON STAFFORDSHIRE SET TO BECOME ANNUAL EVENT IN THE BUSINESS CALENDAR
A cutting-edge cybersecurity and technology conference is set to become a regular event in the business calendar following two successful pilots.
Cybercon Staffordshire was first held in 2025, in Stoke-on-Trent when local firm Abzorbed IT and its founder, Usman Shah, launched the concept which brings together industry experts, not just to share expertise and knowledge – but also real-life experiences of cybercrime.
The event then attracted headline speaker Geoff White – an investigative journalist who spoke about a £1.5 billion world heist. Plus on the same day, last April, ex-Cyber detective and advisor Adam Pilton, Simon Norsworthy, sales engineer at leading global cybersecurity company – Bitdefender and Vimal Raj Sampathkumar, of IT firm, ManageEngine presented.

This year the event – which took place at the Wade Conference Centre, Hartshill – saw Graham Cluley, who was named one of the World’s Top IT Security influencers and author of Dr Solomon’s Anti-Virus Toolkit – one of the world’s first anti-virus products for Windows, take to the stage to share an in-depth presentation on recent cyber threats and the complexities of AI in business.
Other speakers included Global Director of Cyber Security Services Nick Jackson, who works with organisations across EMEA, the Americas and APAC, including ANZ and the Middle East and Birgitte Skorge Steen – Head of Microsoft Cyber Security Sales and Strategy.
Practical advice and a keynote was also provided by Scalefusion a global leader in Unified Endpoint Management. Zero Trust Networks were discussed to better secure businesses from otherwise invisible threats.
“When we first launched Cybercon Staffordshire we did not know what to expect or how popular it would be,” said Usman Shah.
“But now, after two successful runs, we are delighted to announce that this will be a definite annual event in going forward to share more insights, knowledge and have discussions about the ever evolving cyber landscape and how businesses can best protect themselves.
“Cyber threats have evolved with all sorts of technologies – including the use of AI – and its imperative that as businesses we can all share insights and learn from each other to best support each other.”
Usman added: “We have learnt a lot from the first two events and really appreciate the feedback we have had. Plans are now firmly in place to produce an even bigger and better conference for 2027, which will take place in April once again.”
Simon Lasota, Founder of Aisy, who was at the 2026 event, said: “Cybercon Staffordshire was a valuable event that brought together a strong mix of speakers, perspectives and practical experience.
“With AI and cyber threats evolving so quickly, events like this are important because they help businesses better understand the risks, learn from real-world examples, and connect with others facing similar challenges.
“It was great to see people at different stages of their cybersecurity journey sharing ideas and learning from one another. It’s definitely an event I’d attend again.”
The immediate next step for Usman and Abzorbed IT is to release a brand new Cybercon Staffordshire website.
