Celebrations for expanding Critchlow
AN award-winning estate agent is celebrating further expansion following another 12-months of success in the industry.
Critchlow Estate Agents – which has just also celebrated their five year anniversary – have always prided themselves on providing excellent customer service.
Back in November 2022, the agency received an award for ‘outstanding customer service’ when being presented with Gold for Stoke-on-Trent (South) in the British Property Awards.
The business continued to grow following the introduction of a residential lettings service and in 2024, online auctions were also added to the portfolio.

In the last month Critchlow Estate Agents– which also provides sales for both residential and commercial properties – have been awarded ‘Most Client-Focused Estate Agents 2025 – Staffordshire’ from the UK Enterprise Awards, which is run by SME news.
Plus to add – the team has grown to seven staff members with the recent introductions of negotiators Hannah Sherratt-Smith and Senior negotiator Darcy Fleming joining founder Martin Critchlow, Sales Manager Lee Dono, Lettings Manager Alison Proudfoot, negotiator Lauren Andrea and Sales Progressor Lauren Critchlow, which has also seen Critchlow Estate Agents expand their offices at Federation House, in Stoke-on-Trent to three suits.
Martin said: “It has been a real fast-paced couple of years for us and I am so proud of all the team who have been amazing.
“Receiving awards in itself is a great achievement and really helps with all of the hard work, plus we are thrilled to have increased our offices at Federation House and growing the team has been a crucial part of our strategy in going forward. In the next 12 months we will be looking to welcome at least two more members of staff to our sales team.”
Martin also spoke about how Stoke-on-Trent has increased in popularity amongst buyers. He said: “We have seen a shift in buyers wanting to come to Stoke to live as properties are more affordable than other big cities, but equally of fantastic quality – and we are in a great location.
“There is a lot of regeneration happening in our city and people want to come here to live.
“We have also noticed the market has stayed really strong – even after the stamp duty increase – and we have seen a healthy influx of first time buyers to the market.
“In fact since the increase in stamp duty in April, in the Stoke-on-Trent area, there has been 1,538 properties sale agreed out of 1,950 in the ST1 to ST12 areas with ourselves with more than 100 houses sold in the last three months.
“Our online auctions have also had an increase with 79 sold out of 85 listed – so Stoke-on-Trent really is a great place to come and live and work.”
