Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme Reaccredited for ‘Gold Standard’ End-of-Life Care
Dementia specialist care village, Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been reaccredited the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award for its exceptional standards of end-of-life care, achieving the prestigious platinum rating.
Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme’s reaccreditation by the GSF comes with a perfect score, which demonstrates their commitment to providing an outstanding level of care to residents.
The report noted the “connection and independence” throughout the village, and commended the villages’ staff in caring for residents living with dementia, as well as the specialist support offered through the village’s Admiral Nurse service.

The assessment also praised the compassion and support the Belong team provides for residents and their families, especially in their final days.
It noted how staff prioritise “comfort and dignity,” and always strive to ensure residents wishes are heard and acted upon, supporting them and their families in their final moments and beyond.
A recent review on carehome.co.uk by the daughter of a resident at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme recounts her experience: “In those final days, we felt completely held and supported. We genuinely felt we belonged there alongside Dad. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the staff’s compassion and proactive care continued right through Dad’s last moments and beyond.”

Representatives from Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme received the reaccreditation at an awards ceremony in Birmingham on 22nd September.
