The Newcastle-under-Lyme BID Board provides strategic oversight and governance for the BID’s delivery programme, ensuring levy payer investment is directed towards initiatives that support economic vitality, improve the trading environment and promote the town as a thriving destination for businesses, residents and visitors.
The BID Board brings together representatives from a wide range of sectors, including culture, education, independent retail and hospitality, with members such as Fiona Wallace of the New Vic Theatre, Kirsty Rollings from Keele University and Nigel Davies of Boss & Sons, ensuring a balanced and informed approach to shaping the town’s future.
Alistair’s perspective will support the BID’s work to promote Newcastle-under-Lyme as an attractive place to live, work and socialise, helping to shape how the town is perceived by prospective buyers and residents and reinforcing the importance of a strong, confident place narrative.
“’I’m genuinely excited to be joining the Newcastle-under-Lyme BID Board,” says Alistair.
“As an independent business that has been part of this town for generations, Heywoods is deeply rooted in the local community, so the opportunity to work more closely with other businesses and contribute to the future of the town was a real draw for me.
“I’ve admired the work the BID has already delivered – you can see the positive impact and improvements taking shape, and that doesn’t happen without a huge amount of commitment and collaboration behind the scenes. I’m looking forward to playing a small part in building on that momentum and helping to make Newcastle-under-Lyme an even more attractive place to visit, live and do business.’
Jane Tunnicliff, Co-Chair of Newcastle-under-Lyme BID, said: “Alistair’s appointment to the BID Board is a real asset for Newcastle-under-Lyme. His experience within the residential property sector, combined with his entrepreneurial success brings valuable insight at a time when how we position and promote the town really matters.
“Alistair understands the importance of shaping a strong, confident narrative for Newcastle and we’re delighted to welcome his perspective and influence to the Board.”
Alistair’s appointment reflects the BID’s ongoing commitment to ensuring its Board reflects the diversity, expertise and ambition of Newcastle-under-Lyme’s business community, as it continues to champion the town’s strengths and future potential.
