ALICE IN WONDERLAND BACK FOR CHRISTMAS AT THE NEW VIC

Alice-in-Wonder-land-new-vic-theatre

One of the New Vic’s best-loved Christmas shows, Alice in Wonderland, is back this festive season to celebrate the culmination of the theatre company’s 60th anniversary of theatre making.

Opening on Friday 18 November 2022 and running until Saturday 28 January 2023, audiences will journey with Alice down the rabbit hole, following the White Rabbit into a curiously enchanting new world, filled with even curiouser characters.

As she searches for a way home, Alice encounters strange and whimsical people: a disappearing Cheshire Cat with a grin wider than she’s ever seen, a Mad Hatter whose tea party never quite serves tea, and a bad tempered Queen who is looking for her jam tarts.

This adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic by New Vic Artistic Director Theresa Heskins will be captivatingly brought to life by the same creative team behind the theatre’s previous successful Christmas productions including Beauty and the Beast, Treasure Island and UK Theatre’s Best Show for Children and Young People The Snow Queen.

In trademark New Vic style, Alice in Wonderland is set to be an adventure like no other, filled with fun, laughter, live music and many magical moments, giving the young, and young-at-heart, a joyful festive treat this year.

With a special Early Bird ticket offer available, audiences who buy their tickets before 30 June 2022 will enjoy £10.00 off usual ticket prices; and for anyone booking for the opening night of Friday 18 November, all tickets will be priced at a special anniversary offer price of £6.00.

New Vic Artistic Director Theresa Heskins said: “I’m very happy this year to be revisiting one of my favourite productions, Alice In Wonderland. It’s a show that can be enjoyed by all ages at the same time, and everyone will find something wonderful in it.  As with all of our Christmas plays, the fun and theatricality is underpinned by an engaging story and a substantial theme, which springs from Lewis Carroll’s original.”

Alice in Wonderland will take to the stage at the New Vic from Friday 18 November 2022 to Saturday 28 January 2023. Tickets are on sale. For more information and to book call the Box Office on 01782 717 962 or visit newvictheatre.org.uk
