Enjoy a Summer Feast at Newcastle-under-Lyme Golf Club

NUL-GOLF-CLUB-2022

A North Staffordshire golf club is gearing up to welcome members of the public through their restaurant doors during the coming summer evenings.

Newcastle-under-Lyme Golf Club – which boasts a large sun terrace at the Westlands Restaurant – is offering weekly evening dining to non-members, Thursday through to Saturday.

The club, situated on Whitmore Road, already serves traditional pub style meals during evenings and weekends, to members and non-members. But now with 2022 feeling like the first real Summer at the club since before the pandemic, manager Richard Beech is urging more local people to take advantage of the stunning views which surround the golf course.

“I came to Newcastle Golf Club just as the pandemic hit and it has been very tough,” says Richard (pictured), who is a former Golf Professional.

“Our members have been really supportive since I came to the club and we have had to juggle a lot of things, like a lot of businesses. As well as new members of staff, we also introduced a new menu for 2022, and now feel we are ready to offer more in terms of our restaurant. We would love to see more people from the surrounding area visit us. We are family friendly and we cannot wait to welcome more local residents.”

Newcastle-under-Lyme Golf Club was founded in 1908 and has retained many of its original features, set in an 18-hole classic English parkland course and set in the Green Belt.

Richard himself has been involved in golf from a young age. Prior to becoming manager in Newcastle-under-Lyme, the 38-year-old managed various clubs in South Staffordshire and North West Birmingham where he was also a professional.

“Golf has been in my life since I was around 10-years-old,” Richard added.

“I absolutely love the sport and have enjoyed working at many clubs. I really wanted to come to Newcastle as I think we have such a fantastic course here and I feel very lucky to be a part of it.”

The clubhouse is also available for hire for corporate events, weddings, parties and funerals.

The Club’s restaurant is open for breakfast and lunchtimes. Enquiries should be made to Newcastle-under-Lyme Golf Club on 01782 617006.
