Fibre Optic Transformation for Leek Town Centre

FullFibre-Leek-Town-Centre-2022

FullFibre’s Fibre Heroes have been building their open access, wholesale full fibre network in the town of Leek since the end of 2021.

With a live date earmarked for April, it will be the first full fibre service available to residents and businesses in the town.

As an open-access, wholesale network builder, FullFibre have the best value Gigabit Capable broadband services in the county, providing consumers with access to services from a wide range of ISPs at the most competitive price points.

The build is being led by Chris Williams, who is from the area. He said: “I’m Staffordshire born and bred so it’s been a privilege to build a fibre network in Leek that will serve the town for generations to come. The skilled and experienced team we’ve assembled for the task are second to none and for many of our locally based team, being able to use the experience they have gained working nationwide so close to home has also been really special.

“The company is growing and is actively seeking to provide even more jobs, particularly by offering the Kickstart opportunities to local young people. Anyone looking to start a career in the fibre industry would be well advised to get in touch with us at FullFibre. It’s a rewarding career choice, particularly when you’re able to deliver the best connectivity to your local community and there are lots of opportunities.”

Leek has benefitted from an accelerated rollout by making efficient use of existing passive infrastructure enabling them to build at a faster rate and connect residents sooner than other network providers. In doing so it significantly reduces the disruption caused to the local community that can result from other methods.

The progress being made in Leek has also enabled Full Fibre to accelerate its plans in neighbouring Cheadle where work has now started to bring the same benefits to residents and businesses there.
