Book a holiday with Get Set Go and help charity queen Ada Haywood to raise vital funds

Travel consultancy Get Set Go is supporting North Staffordshire charity champion Ada Haywood by making a donation to Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation for any holiday booked up until 20 March.

Company directors John Lehnert and Matt King want to draw a line under a pandemic hit year that has seen many problems for both the travel sector and charities.

John, of Packmoor, regularly meets Ada at BNI (Business Network International) online business networking meetings and saw an opportunity to help give her fundraising a boost as confidence returns to the holiday market.

John said: “2020 was a wash out for our business sector but we recognise it also hit charities extremely hard, with many fundraising events lost. Ada’s fundraising is an inspiration to all who meet her and she’s much loved in the North Staffordshire business networking community. With the vaccine roll out, we’re getting many more enquiries about holidays for later in 2021 and throughout 2022 and we’re advising people to book now to get the best deals in the locations they want to travel to. We see the offer of a donation to Ada’s charities as an extra incentive to book now, while raising much needed funds for health charities, Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.”

Ada, of Clayton, Newcastle, has raised over £1m for her chosen charities over recent years. Her efforts were recognised with the award of a British Empire Medal by the Queen.

John added:  “Ada works tirelessly for her good causes and regularly gets up early in the mornings to attend BNI networking groups. She puts her heart and soul into fundraising and I know how disappointed she was to see events cancelled due to coronavirus in 2020, including her flagship Pink Tie Ball, which is usually held every autumn at the Moat House, Festival Park and raises many thousands of pounds.”

Anyone who books a holiday with Get Set Go, up until 20 March, will automatically give a donation to Ada’s charities. To get involved, please visit the Get Set Go website at www.getsetgo.notjusttravel.com or by telephoning 07887 610491.
