Leading fitness and nutrition experts see an online business boom

Fitness and nutrition experts Train Learn Go have seen an expansion to their client base since switching to online sessions during the coronavirus lockdown.

Usually 45-minute training sessions are carried out in the home or place of work by leading professional trainers, but with the current restrictions in place bespoke 1-2-1 programmes are being run via communications channel Zoom.

Free consultations are also being delivered as well as nutrition advice personalised for each client.

Darren Winterburn, who heads up the Train Learn Go Stoke franchise, said: “When lockdown was put in place we had to adapt our business as quickly as possible and started operating online the day after it was announced.

“It took us a few weeks to get everything in order but we are starting to see a real increase in people wanting to use our services. We are able to carry out consultations easily online and in the last two weeks we have had nine new clients sign up to us – we are receiving enquiries daily. We are expecting to see quite a big increase over the coming weeks. Quite a few of our clients, new and existing, really like our 30-day rolling contacts too as they don’t feel tied into anything.”

Darren, of Stone, usually covers the North Staffordshire region for Train Learn Go. Since switching to online sessions the 34-year-old is also finding interest coming in from outside of the area.

“As well as enquiries from individuals, I have also been talking to several businesses – some of which are in the South of the country as they have seen our sessions being advertised on the internet and social media,” he says.

“We have discussed several options with them and it is also looking quite promising some of them, and their staff, will be coming on board as clients. Our sessions are also perfect for staff who have been furloughed for instance and may have more time on their hands. It’s really important to try and stay fit and healthy, especially during lockdown, and exercising along with the correct nutrition all helps – not just with body weight but with people’s own mindset. With all of our exercises you don’t need any fancy equipment or anything like that – you just need space to lie down. We offer guidance and coaching all the way through our programmes and we are available to answer questions all day long.”

Train Learn Go are providing online sessions daily from 7am to 9pm. Nutritional presentations are also provided by the industry leading personal training company.
