“Working with Port Vale Football Club has been an amazing experience already,” said James.
“When we first got chatting to the club we identified straight away how we could help them. Following a thorough assessment and our agreement, we immediately implemented changes for the better,
which has resulted in an enhanced service and a significant reduce in IT costs for the club.”
To add Halcyon’s 24/7 service has supported a flexible way of working, plus in a short period the team have boosted the club’s cyber security.
James adds: “It is important to understand not everyone works 9-5 which is why we have been providing round the clock IT support to the club.
“As well as football games – which are not played at the same times and days during the week – the club host multiple events on a regular basis and therefore it’s crucial that a robust IT system is in place to support demands, whether that is to support data management or fans engagement – the service needs to be at its ultimate best on the day.
“Our team have also helped to improve service levels and
comprehensive cybersecurity – which is vital in the ever increasing risks faced with digital threats.
“In just 90 days we helped the football club in achieving cyber essentials accreditation, along with sourcing and introducing hardware, which has boosted their compliance.”
Luke Cassidy, Head of IT Operations at Port Vale Football Club said: “Changing a service provider in an area that has such a significant operational impact on the club is a major undertaking. Halcyon made this transition seamless from documentation through to service and delivery.
“They stand out for their strong community ethos and high performing culture, which aligns closely with our own values. They are more than just an MSP (managed support provider), they are an integral part of our club, both on and off the pitch. We are extremely excited to be working with the team as we continue to build and enhance our IT service delivery.”
Halcyon have further offices in Liverpool and Dubai and support professional services as well as the leisure and hospitality sectors.
The firm has grown rapidly since James launched the business in 2022, and last year a turnover of £1.1m was reported.
Moving forward James and his team are keen to continue building on their relationship with Port Vale Football Club, including supporting the work which takes place throughout the Stoke-on-Trent area.
“Port Vale are known for doing amazing things ion Stoke-on-Trent as a whole and it is great to be a partner,” says James.
“As well the professional services Halcyon provides we are also keen to support, and be involved in the club’s community and charity work.
“We are currently exploring options on how best we can offer more together.”
