Smithfield Works – “…a great location to grow…”

Smithfield Works has been thanked for helping in the growth of a well-known home brand.

In 2023, Morphy Richards became one of the first Smithfield Works office tenants, in the same year that Consumer Brands Limited became their official licensee.

During the last two years the home appliance company has grown considerably, which has sparked a decision to relocate their office and the business will be based at the nearby Whittle Court, in Hanley Stoke-on-Trent, where Consumer Brands has ploughed a six-figure sum into refurbishing the 7,400sq ft building.

Emma Cork, Marketing Manager at Morphy Richards, says: “We’ve truly enjoyed our time at Smithfield, and it’s been a wonderful location for us to grow and build our relationships. When we started at Smithfield Works we had 23 staff and now  have 39 – plus we also have a further 13 vacancies for various roles which we are recruiting for.

“As we continue to expand and evolve, it’s essential for us to have a space that reflects our current and future needs.

“The new office in Stoke-on-Trent will allow us to create an even more inspiring and productive work environment for our team, all while staying firmly rooted in the heart of Stoke on Trent.”

Managing Director at Morphy Richards, Rob Wileman, adds: “We are incredibly grateful for the time we’ve spent at Smithfield, and while we’ll certainly miss the incredible energy and collaborative spirit of the space, we’re excited for the next chapter.”

Smithfield Works is part of the £250m Smithfield development by Genr8.

“Morphy Richards have been excellent office suite tenants and we wish them all the best for the future.

“It is an exciting time for the business and it has been great to see them grow in the last couple of years. We will definitely be keeping in touch and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them as they continue to expand.

“It is also great to hear that the business will be remaining in Stoke-on-Trent which could provide potential employment opportunities for local people.”
