FREE workshops with The Butterfly Bush Effect in Stoke Town
Stoke-on-Trent artist Natasha McHugh is to explore Spode’s history, local ecology, photography and printmaking through a cyanotype workshop as part of her recent commission – The Butterfly Bush Effect.
Natasha and three other artists from ACAVA studios are creating work for an exhibition on the Spode site which reflects on the changes that are happening throughout the historical site, as well as facilitating public workshops.
The workshops start with cyanotype printing, using local plants found on site and in Stoke town, along with archive photographs, maps and Natastha’s photography exploring the history of the site.
The Cyanotype workshop on Saturday 17 May will start at 1pm. At Spode Works
Bookings can be made HERE
The works created during the workshops will be part of the exhibition, which will be open to the public at the end of June 2025.
The Butterfly Bush Effect project has received support from Stoke High Street Accelerator pilot, which is funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
£237k was awarded to Stoke Town through Stoke-on-Trent City Council to be spent in the financial year 2024/25.
