Ten year celebrations for Coach House Forge

A first generation family-run business are celebrating ten years of producing high-quality heirlooms which have put them on the world map.

Coach House Forge is the brainchild of Chris Danby – who followed a passion for the blacksmiths industry – whilst in a full-time employment role before setting up the business with co-founder and wife Amy in 2014.

Chris taught himself the craft following his own experience at a blacksmith experience day and first started to produce the likes of pokers and hooks at his home workshop, which he started to sell online.

Five years later – and following a huge increase in sales – the Nantwich-based online firm became a limited company and in the last few years has welcomed two more multi-skilled blacksmiths – Richard Madden and Adrian Smith. Marketing Manger Michelle Haylock and Business Manager and Creative Consultant, Jo Scoble complete the team.

“As we celebrate Coach House Forge’s 10th Anniversary, I am filled with immense pride,” says Chris (pictured).

“Over the past decade our journey has been defined by craftsmanship, dedication and the unwavering support of our customers and talented team.

“It’s been an honour to see our forge grow from a small workshop into a thriving business that upholds the traditions of quality and artistry in metalwork and we thank everyone who has helped to be a part of our story so far. Here’s to many more years of creativity and success.”

Amy added: “We are thrilled to be celebrating our ten-year anniversary. When Chris first set his mind to learning the craft and producing heirlooms, we had no idea where it would go, but it has been incredible and in recent years we have fast become a leader in hand forged metal giftware around the world – which is just incredible.”

Coach House Forge create and make everything on site and are constantly adding to their array of products as demand keeps coming.

“We have enquiries coming in from all areas and what we really like to do is to offer something bespoke, something different and something which is personalised,” says Chris.

“For instance we invite our customers to add a hand-stamped message to their gifts – such as adding a special date or message.

“There is no better sound than hearing the hammering of creative designs coming to life at our forge home – all on our own anvils – and knowing they are going to be shipped throughout the UK and across the globe.”

Chris is also admired within the blacksmith industry and in 2019 one of his designs – an iron bowl with copper buttons – was featured in the book: ‘The Everyday Blacksmith’ by author Nicholas Wicks.
